Songwriting and Production classes will introduce students to both the process of writing original rap/hip-hop songs and the technology used to produce them. Teaching Artists will lead students through a series of writing exercises to develop and refine lyrics, vocal and performance exercises to gain confidence and poise when presenting one’s work, and a structured experience interfacing with recording technology and music production software. Students will learn how to constructively critique their work, as well as that of their peers. For select students, an Advanced Songwriting and Production class will be offered.
